The Philadelphia 76ers hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday night. This was the final game for both teams before the All-Star Break.
Philadelphia had a strong first half, leading 63-38 at halftime. Cleveland played a much stronger second half, outscoring the Sixers 32-24 in the third and 42-31 in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to make a comeback. The Sixers wound up with a 118-112 victory.
Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 29 points on 9 of 21 shooting from the floor and 11 of 12 from the free throw line. James Harden added 19 points and 12 assists as all of Philadelphia’s starters scored in double figures.
Tyrese Maxey also scored in double figures. He scored 16 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor [6/12] and from three [2/4].
Philadelphia finishes the first half of the season third place in the Eastern Conference, three games behind the Boston Celtics and two teams ahead of the team they defeated tonight.
