Bronx Man Indicted For Attempted Murder Of A Police Officer

Today a jury indicted Rafael Rosado, 44, of 1728 Garfield Street for Attempted Murder in the first degree and second degree, Attempted Assault in the first degree, first-degree Criminal Use of a Firearm, second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Menacing a Police Officer and second-degree Reckless Endangerment.

On August 29, 2021, at approximately 4:13 a.m. an altercation involving the defendant, Rafael Rosado, his son, Michael Rosado, and others took place in the vicinity of 180th Street and Valentine Ave and shots were fired. Two off-duty police officers were nearby and responded to the location. During the incident, Rafael Rosado fired multiple times at one of the police officers. 

Unfortunately, this chain of events led to the fatal shooting of Michael Rosado by police. His death is being investigated by the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
