Shooting Response Team

NYPD Investigating 2 Overnight Shooting Incidents

By Johanna Jackson –

Early Monday morning, just after 12:30 a.m. three men and five women were shot outside the Roosevelt Houses on Dekalb Ave.

Allegedly there was a party at the housing complex with as many as 100 and 150 people. Two men fired multiple shots and then fled the scene on foot. Police did recover one firearm at the scene.

Four minutes later, at about 12:34 a.m., at Atlantic and Schenck avenues in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn a 16-year-old driving a car was shot in the head, and two other teens in the car were also struck.

Police say that the teen was driving westbound on Schenck Avenue when another vehicle pulled alongside, and a gunman inside opened fire.

No arrests have been made in either of these shootings and police are asking that anyone with information call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
